formulated with excellent Anti-Mold™, Anti-Re-Growth™,
properties to protect structures.

Boric acid is one of the active ingredients in
BETANIX® 100.1Paint Prep. One of the benefits of this
compound is its chemical stability over time. It does
not break down thus providing long-lasting protection
and residual control.

potential mold, fungi problems in wall voids in hotels,
schools, nursing homes, restaurants, condos, offices
and homes.

Application (Solution)
BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is applied as a solution using
specially designed equipment by Certified Applicators
for treatment against mold , fungi. (See EPA label for
instructions). BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep when applied to
surfaces, forms a film of active ingredient which
becomes available once the spores try to feed on the
substrate. In order for fungal and mold spores to
colonize surface moisture is required, this moisture
mobilizes the active ingredient preventing any further
activity. BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep, applied as a solution to
wood, will penetrate into the paper on drywall and
wood to various depths dependent on the moisture
in the wood and the wood species. BETANIX® 100.1
Paint Prep is a unique formulation which forms a water repellent
coating as the surface dries out. The active ingredient
does not break down; therefore as normal moisture
changes occur in the wood, BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is
always available to be drawn deeper into the wood
over time, providing long lasting protection.

The mode of action for BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is that
of a metabolic inhibitor in molds and fungi
causing a breakdown in the normal feeding cycle
of these organisms. Mold and fungi can infect and
rapidly destroy wood and other surfaces where there
are moisture problems.

Some molds, fungi and termites can actively transport
moisture from the ground or a leak to wood and other
surfaces of lower moisture content in efforts to expand
the colonization of the fungi. BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is highly
toxic and will kill the mold and fungi present on contact
and protect against future infestations. Problems that
may have led to the infestation or that may do so in the
future must be corrected. This includes correcting moisture
leaks, providing adequate ventilation and moisture barriers.

Application (Foam)
BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is also applied directly
to surfaces that need to be painted. 1. AII surfaces must be clean and free from dirt, oil, wax, grease, mold and mildew.
2. lf mold and mildew is present or not, Clean with Betanix® 100.1 Paint Prep, a professional cleaner, to insure best results. use according to manufacturer's application directions.
3. Set all nails or fasteners below surface.
4. Repair all cracks and holes with a suitable patching compound and allow it to cure before painting. Caulk all seams, joints and corners.
5. Prime with appropriate Betanix® water based exterior primer.

What can Betanix® do to help with mold?

Reduces the population of fungus (mold) and toxic fungus (mold) spores by 99.99% or greater in less than 5 minutes on all non-porous surfaces, including linoleum and tile floors, painted and varnishes surfaces and prevents it's regrowth.

The best results and penetration in wood will be
obtained with temperatures above 55°F. Wood does
not take up aqueous solutions as readily at lower
temperatures.

BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep will not corrode metals normally
used in construction. This includes ferrous metals,
galvanized metals, screws and nails. BETANIX®
100.1 Paint Prep will not affect electrical wiring either, but it is
recommended that applications be performed before
wiring is in place. If electricity is connected, ensure
the power is turned off before applying the product.

Fungi, mildews, mold and wood rots are often the
result of either high moisture present or lack of
adequate air circulation (ventilation). A 'mustiness'
or damp odor may be associated with these
conditions. When BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is applied,
the increased moisture may enhance this odor.
This odor may exist until the treated surface dries
out. When possible, consider using fans or
increasing ventilation to reduce the odors.

Potential structural applications
Existing Structures

BETANIX® 100.1 Paint Prep is applied as a solution directly
to all wood surfaces including studs, trusses, floor
and ceiling joists, plywood and all other engineered
wood products used in construction.
